Find an asset in the register

One search field, three registers behind it, and a filter that answers the only question you usually have.

  1. Open Assets and pick which register

    On screenAssets · People · Consumables

    Assets, People and Consumables sit across the top. They are three registers, not three filters: a person is not a laptop and a box of cables is not either. Underneath, a header names what you are looking at and counts it, so you always know how big the thing you are searching is.

  2. Search by whatever you happen to know

    On screenTag, serial, model, person or site

    Tag, serial, model, person or site, all in the same field, exactly as the prompt says. You will not always be holding the tag. Sometimes all you have is a name and a rough idea of the model, and that is enough.

  3. Use the attention filter when you are working a list

    Everything is the register. Beside it is a count of what needs attention, and it names the number rather than the category: 181 need attention, not a vague label. Attention means one of three things and only three — past your verification cadence, flagged for audit, or in repair. A machine still in its box is not overdue, because expecting somebody to have walked past it would not be reasonable and counting it made half the fleet look late.

  4. Read the standing on the right

    Each row ends with how long since that record was last verified: Never, Today, 5 d, 13 mo. It is a measurement, not a coloured pill. A green dot tells you somebody decided it was fine and never says when, which is the one thing an auditor asks.

  5. People answers the question nobody wants to ask

    The People tab opens on anyone no longer in your directory who is still holding kit, with a count each. It is a standing list rather than a report you remember to run, and it is usually the fastest money in the app.
