Archive
Lock a file or folder with a password as a Zip, age or PGP file. Open Zip, 7z, RAR and more.
Read, sign, fill, redact, merge, split and convert PDFs. Ask questions about a document with on-device AI.
Vault
Passwords and 2FA codes behind one master password, with Touch ID.
Trust Split
Split a secret into shares so any few of them bring it back.

Questions
Good to know.
Is it really free?
Yes. No purchase, no account, no trial. Every tool in it is unlocked.
Does it connect to the internet?
No. Lockbench ships without permission to use the network, so macOS won't let it connect to anything. Your files stay on your Mac.
Will my Mac let me open it?
Yes. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app you download.
What do the AI features need?
Asking questions about a PDF uses Apple's on-device AI, so it needs macOS 26 or later on an Apple silicon Mac with Apple Intelligence turned on. Everything else works on macOS 13 and up.
How do I update it?
Come back here and download the new version. Lockbench doesn't check for updates, since it can't go online.
Can I use it next to Starkive Studio?
Yes. They're separate apps with separate settings and vaults, so one never touches the other.
How do I check the download?
In Terminal, run shasum -a 256 on the file. It should print 7635667ceae1738666e6f826ff0487566ef8c8ff2d7acfcebe9f0b06ed2d9d20.
