What was on the chip
One HTTPS link, carrying one identifier:

No serial number. No make or model. No name of a person, a company or a site. A tag can be read by anybody who walks past it, with no pairing and no trace, so the chip carries a pointer and the register keeps the facts. Nothing written to a tag can be re-keyed or revoked later, which is exactly why nothing sensitive is put on one.
Why this page cannot tell you more
The record is in its owner’s register, and their register is on their own devices. We do not hold a copy of it. On a cloud workspace we hold the parts they chose to sync, and the parts that matter most are encrypted with a key we never receive.
If you have Manifest installed and you are a member of the organisation that wrote this tag, the tap never reaches this page at all: the app takes the link and opens the record from the copy on your own device, which is why it works in a basement with no signal.
If you have found equipment that is not yours
The asset number is printed on the label, next to or on top of the chip. Give that number to whoever runs IT where the machine belongs. It is the string they can search, and it means something inside their register and nowhere else — asset numbers are issued per organisation, so the same one names a different machine at every company that uses that prefix.
We cannot pass a message on. We do not know who wrote this tag.
